Mmmm... this is my absolute favorite coffee substitute. Homemade cacao. There is something so soothing and wholesome about a cup of this in the morning.
Cacao is loaded with magnesium, helps heighten your awareness, increases blood flow, and can help with mood enhancement.
The most beautiful thing about cacao is that it aids in opening your heart chakra & reconnects you to yourself and those around you. <3
I love to say affirmations into my morning drinks and bless them before sipping. This reverberates into all areas of my life and makes me feel more aligned to receive goodness in every moment.
Also, this cacao recipe is great grounds for other superfoods you'd like to include in your diet.
It pairs really well with hormone-balancing MACA as well as other superfoods like turmeric and beet root powder.
Try this as part of your morning ritual and let me know what you think.
Nourishing Cacao (V + GF)
Servings: 1-2
Time: 10 minutes
Ingredients:
2 cups plant-based milk, unsweet
1/4 cup finely chopped unsweet cacao
1-3 TB pure maple syrup, or whatever sweetener you prefer <3
1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
1 pinch of fresh orange zest
A good sprinkle of cinnamon
Sprinkle of salt
Directions:
Heat the milk on the stove in a small pot over low-medium heat. Heat until it's steaming hot, not boiling. Stir every minute.
Add the chocolate to a small glass bowl.
When the milk is ready and hot, add about a 1/2 cup of the milk to the chocolate and mix until smooth.
Add the chocolate mixture back into your pot and stir until all blended. You can also use one of those electric milk frother devices to get it extra whipped!
Add the remaining ingredients. You can adjust the sweetener to your taste.
Enjoy warm in your favorite mug.
Love, Kali
